Zakat is the third pillar of Islam that must be fulfilled by every Muslim. In Perak, the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) is an organization that manages zakat matters, regardless of whether it collects or distributes it. Zakat has many types, one of which is agricultural zakat. This zakat is issued when the conditions are sufficient. However, there are still farmers who are not aware of the importance of paying zakat. Therefore, this study has three objectives. The first is to understand the concept of agricultural zakat and the conditions of its implementation. The second is to identify the level of understanding and awareness of farmers on agricultural zakat. The latter is to study the methods used by farmers to pay agricultural zakat. The data used in this study are secondary data and primary data. Secondary data is data obtained from websites, articles and journals. The primary data is data obtained from interviews with Mr. Muhamad Shameer Bin Mohd Yusoff, Assistant Manager, Dakwah Unit and External Counter, MAIPk Marketing Division, and two farmers, Mr. Mohd Zaini Bin Abdul Aziz and Mr. Sabran bin Sulaiman. The data were analyzed to measure the level of understanding of farmers on agricultural zakat from two angles, first from farmers and second from MAIPk. As a result, the findings of this study can address all of the study's objectives, which are related to farmers' awareness of agricultural zakat in Perak.
