The Study of e-Book Usage in Teaching and Learning: Primary and Secondary School

Electronic book was introduced to teachers and students to overcome the lack of learning material and attract students to learn. E-book is a material taht is adopted into digital form and able to assist teacher and student in teaching and learning. The main objective of this study is to measure the usefulness and effectiveness of e-book in learning. Desktop Author versions 4.5.7 software is used in this project to develop e-book application. This study involved two schools in Seberang Perai Utara and Tengah. Each school involved two groups of students and one of the groups using e-book application. Every respondent need to use this application, fill in the questionnaires form and answer the test given in order to measure student's understanding. The usefulness and effectiveness of this application is measured by analyzing the data in the form of average and standard deviation. The result of this study indicate that the use of e-book application in teaching is able to upgrade student's understand and effective to increase student's performance.
